  • Long term Position

* Do you want to make a really difference to some of the most vulnerable students in the city?

* Work at a fantastic mainstream Primary School?

* Have a passion to develop individuals with a more flexible curriculum involving significant work with Year 6 children throughout their SATs?

A great mainstream Primary School in Lambeth require a creative Higher Level Teaching Assistant who is passionate about providing the best possible education and care for their pupils. You would have the opportunity to deliver Personal Learning and interventions. This is an exciting opportunity to get back to teaching children and play a significant part of their overall development. This could be a great opportunity to take full pastoral responsibility for a small group(s) as a stepping stone into teaching.

The school has fantastic connections on the London Underground (Victoria and Northern Line) stations.

The successful candidate will take on duties associated with a teaching assistant. In addition to those duties, you will also take on whole class teaching to cover sickness and absence. In most cases the teaching work will be planned for and timetabled. You will also be supported by a qualified teacher. This is perfect for a teaching assistant who wants to progress, or a graduate who is looking to go into teaching.

This position would suit a candidate with a proven track record of working in KS2, Year 6 experience is desirable, however not essential. This role would suit an individual who is passionate about making a real difference to students' life chances and supporting them in achieving their potential in essential life skills, which is a high priority for the school. The ability to be creative and use imaginative flair to engage is essential, along with having resilience, drive and high expectations to inspire students to achieve. As a growing Primary School with a teacher training school in the trust, it may also provide an opportunity of further opportunities in the future.
