JOB DESCRIPTION

Learning Mentor to work within a highly prestigious girls school on a part time basis to start in September when schools return. The position is going to be working with pupils at the school and supporting them with their learning and managing behaviour. This is a fantastic opportunity to work within one of the best schools within London. The role will include working alongside teachers to aid and help a pupils across various subjects. The school is keen to look over CVs ASAP and meet people over the next couple of weeks

The Ideal Learning Mentor

We are looking for bright, energetic individuals who either have experience working in secondary schools or who are educated to degree level and have an interest in working with children/young people. Support and training will be provided by both the school and us here at Reeson Education.

Your tasks are likely to include:

  • Liaising with staff to identify learners who would benefit from mentoring
  • Helping learners who are under-performing in their subjects, either on a one-to-one basis outside the classroom or within lessons
  • Implementing strategies and supporting learners in self-esteem and confidence-building activities
  • Listening to learners and helping them resolve a range of issues that are creating barriers to their learning
  • Drawing up agreed action plans with learners, outlining the aims of the mentoring, and monitoring their progress
