Primary SEN Teacher - ASD

  • Tower Hamlets - Bow
  • Ongoing Contract
  • Part-time - 2-3 days per week
  • SLD/PMLD/ASD Class
  • Small class size of 5 pupils with 3 supportive TAs
  • Outstanding OfSTED School
  • ASAP January

A well-resourced Outstanding (OfSTED) SEN school in Tower Hamlets that caters for Primary children with Autism is seeking to appoint a Primary SEN Teacher as soon as possible for an ongoing part-time job share. The school has excellent transport links on underground, trains and buses. The school has strong links with the local community, including training connections with a number of mainstream schools and sharing resources with a top Secondary SEN school. This allows it to enrich its curriculum by welcoming groups and individuals to the school and taking children on an education trip each term and a biannual trip to the seaside.

The class itself consists of 6 pupils (Year2), which is one of the higher achieving groups within the school - mainly ASD with some SLD needs. In class you will have the support of three outstanding, friendly, and hardworking TAs in class. The job share teacher who teaching 3 days per week in the class is committed, hard working and experienced. Classes are well-resourced and staff are encouraged to immerse themselves in the positive and highly rewarding ethos fostered by the bright, energetic and youthful staff and Senior Leadership Team.

The appointed SEN Teacher will therefore have an incredibly supportive and well-equipped team of TAs, as well a professional and well-experienced team committed to providing individualised learning, support and opportunities for pupils with ASD. To carry out this job share role, you would need to be a team player, highly collaborative in the way that you work and with excellent communication skills. The Head is very big of work/life balance and as such has chosen to have two fantastic teachers for this class, instead of maybe one teacher who is unable to give the students their 100%. They are a forward thinking and inclusive school, allowingf or teachers to have families, travel and also continue to develop a successful teaching career!

If this sounds like it could be the role for you, then please get in touch ASAP to be put forward for a trial day.
