Primary Classics Teacher
REESON Education are on the lookout for a passionate and dedicated Primary Classics Teacher for a Central London permanent opportunity commencing in September 2021.
The role will entail working predominantly in KS2, introducing the subject initially and then inspiring Upper KS2 pupils to pursue the subject further into Secondary school and beyond. This role is unique in the fact that not many state maintained schools offer specialist subjects such as Classics at Primary level.
As a Primary Classics Teacher, you will not only love the subject itself, but be able to inspire pupils to appreciate the value of their learning and apply it to the world around them. You will be able to plan innovative lessons that engage and challenge pupils of all ability levels. You must accurately chart pupil progress and liaise regularly with Senior Leaders, Parents and carers to ensure each student reaches their full potential in the classroom.
The ideal Primary Classics Teacher will be confident in their subject knowledge, and have a minimum of 2 years, UK based teaching experience (specifically in Classics). With such a specific role, applications will be considered from educators who are Classics specialists but have been teaching at GCSE and A Level. Previous Primary teaching experience is preferred but by all means not essential.
To be considered for shortlisting, the Primary Classics Teacher must have a minimum degree of 2:1 in their chosen subject area. Salary is negotiable based on experience, and TLRs may be offered to the right candidate.
