A large Mainstream Primary school based in Central West London are looking to appoint an SEN Teacher to join their Speech and Language Unit attached to the Mainstream school.

This is a full time SEN Teaching role working with a small group of KS2 pupils (Year 3-6). The successful candidate will be working alongside a full time Speech and Language Therapist, and a full time experienced SEN TA.

The school are able to offer a full time permanent or time-sheet contract depending on the right candidates preferences.

This SEN school is located only a short distance from underground stations and a number of bus services connecting to West/Central London areas. The school has benefited from a stable leadership team who have steadily improved outcomes for pupils over the last 5 years. The Leadership at the school are determined to ensure that the school becomes outstanding in all areas. The school is proud of their inclusive ethos, and the integration between SEN and Mainstream teaching is transparent throughout the school.

The successful SEN Teacher would need to be able to plan and deliver lessons differentiated to meet the needs of individual students. Due to the needs of the children, the curriculum would focus on communication, social relationships and emotional development, conceptual development and sensory responses. Student's achievement is measured regularly against 3 profiles, with emphasis on individual progress and not specific grades.

You must have excellent communication and team work skills as you would be required to work with support staff, therapists, parents and carers. To be eligible for this position, you must have QTS and experience in teaching children with similar needs.
