Teaching Assistant

Reeson Education is seeking a dedicated, patient, and nurturing 1:1 Teaching Assistant to support a child with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) within a welcoming and inclusive primary school in Ealing.

This is a rewarding opportunity for someone who is passionate about helping children thrive both academically and socially in a supportive educational environment.

The Role

The successful candidate will work closely with the class teacher, SENCO, and external professionals to provide tailored support that enables the child to access learning, develop communication skills, build confidence, and engage positively with peers.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Providing consistent 1:1 classroom support
  • Supporting emotional regulation and social interaction
  • Adapting learning activities to meet individual needs
  • Encouraging independence and positive behaviour
  • Building a trusting and supportive relationship with the child
  • Working collaboratively with parents and staff

We Are Looking For Someone Who:

  • Is calm, patient, and empathetic
  • Has experience working with children with ASD or additional needs
  • Understands sensory and communication needs associated with autism
  • Can build positive relationships and maintain clear boundaries
  • Is resilient, flexible, and proactive
  • Has strong communication and teamwork skills
  • Can remain positive and supportive during challenging moments
  • Is passionate about inclusive education and child development

Desirable:

  • Previous experience in a primary school setting
  • Knowledge of autism-friendly strategies such as visual timetables, sensory regulation, or PECS/Makaton
  • Relevant TA or SEN qualifications
