Teaching Assistant Role Information
A unique special needs school in the borough of Wembley on the Zone 4 border. They are looking for several Teaching Assistant staff to work with pupils who struggle with social and emotional functioning, wellbeing. You will be working in a small class as part of a closely-knit team of 3/4-teaching assistants led by an inspiring, creative, positive, and highly supportive experienced SEN teacher.
You will be working with students (5-12 years old), who all have a diagnosis of social and emotional functioning. You will be supporting students on their journey to improve their ability to self-regulate and manage their behavior alongside their mental health difficulties.
You will support their learning by encouraging them to complete schoolwork and supporting and monitoring these students' academic progress. You will help them to build their social communication skills. These children will be accessing the standard national curriculum, your role is to ensure they know they can be successful.

The Ideal Teaching Assistant
The ideal candidate will have good (SEMH) knowledge and some experience of PECS and Makaton. The key to the job is attitude and the school are very willing to train someone who shows passion and a willingness to get stuck in.
