Teaching Assistant

  • Immediate start
  • Full time
  • Ideal for a Graduate with experience/knowledge of supporting SEN pupils
  • Opportunities for career development
  • Negotiable rates of pay

Immediate start for a Teaching Assistant, in a 'Good' mixed mainstream school in South London.

The SEN department has a Teaching Assistant currently working with a pupil who has Cerebral Palsy. The team needs an additional Teaching Assistant to aid in the day to day support of the pupil.

In order to be considered for this Teaching Assistant post, you must have experience of supporting pupils with impaired motor skills.

There will be requirements to be present during Personal Care, though if appointed, you will not be expected to actively provide Personal Care. It is merely a Safeguarding policy.

Strong subject knowledge of Maths and Science is of high importance for this Teaching Assistant role.

The rate of pay for this Teaching Assistant position will range from £70 to £100 a day depending on the experiences and qualifications of each applicant.

The School

A non-selective mixed school for children aged 11 - 18.

The school has a 'Good' rating from Ofsted.

The A Level results have seen the school perform well above the national average for the past 3 years, placing them in the top 20% of schools for progress.

If you're ambitious, the school offers The National Professional Qualification for Senior Leadership (NPQSL) which identifies teachers with leadership potential and helps them develop the skills they need to become a great head or principal.

The school has spelling bees, debating contests, sports days and maths 'wrangles,' and it all culminates in a Music Gala, a huge event held at a world-famous venue where dozens of schools and hundreds of students perform pieces ranging from Adele to Beethoven.

Requirements

Applications are welcome from you if you are at any stage in your career including if you are a Graduate, British trained or overseas trained Teaching Assistant.

As a minimum requirement, all applicants must have the following in order to be considered for this position as a Teaching Assistant:

  • Right to work in the UK
  • Valid and clear Enhanced DBS
  • Relevant training to effectively support an individual with Cerebral Palsy
