Art Teacher - SEN School (0.2 Part-time)
Are you a talented and dedicated Art Teacher seeking a fulfilling opportunity to inspire students with Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC) through the world of art? We are currently recruiting for an Art Teacher to join a small SEN School situated in the picturesque area of Chiswick. This part-time role offers 1 day a week, an immediate start, and a long-term contract.
The Role:
As an Art Teacher, you will have the unique opportunity to teach ASC students in Key Stage 2 & 3. You will work with small class sizes of 5-7 students, allowing you to provide personalised guidance and support. Your role will involve planning and delivering creative and engaging art lessons, tailoring the curriculum to meet the specific needs of each student. With access to a variety of art materials and resources, you will create an inclusive and inspiring learning environment.
Key Responsibilities of an Art Teacher:
- Develop and deliver imaginative and interactive art lessons for ASC students in Key Stage 2 & 3
- Adapt teaching methods and materials to accommodate individual learning styles and abilities
- Foster a nurturing and supportive classroom environment, promoting positive behaviour and emotional development
- Collaborate with fellow teachers and support staff to ensure a cohesive approach to student learning and progress
- Assess and monitor student performance, providing constructive feedback and implementing appropriate interventions
- Engage students in various art activities, such as drawing, painting, sculpture, and exploring different artistic styles and techniques
- Organise and participate in school exhibitions and events, showcasing students' artistic achievements
Requirements of an Art Teacher:
- Qualified Art Teacher with relevant teaching qualifications (QTS)
- Experience working with students with Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC) or other special educational needs (SEN) is highly desirable
- Strong passion and knowledge of art, with the ability to inspire and engage students
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, fostering positive relationships with students, parents, and colleagues
- Patience, empathy, and flexibility to adapt teaching methods according to individual needs
- Ability to create and maintain an inclusive and stimulating learning environment
- Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people
