  • London Borough of Southwark
  • ASAP Start - long-term to permanent
  • £140 - £190 per day

The Job

This successful Primary SEN School is seeking to appoint an excellent and experienced SEN Teacher for an ASD Class starting as soon as possible, for the academic year.

You will teach a class of students in Key Stage 2 with various needs, Autism being their primary diagnosis. The school benefits from excellent staffing ratios, small class sizes and a highly personalised approach to learning. The class consists of no more than 7 pupils with needs are complex and you will have the full-time support of 2 skilled Teaching Assistants. Many of the students are non-verbal so alternative communication systems are used such as PECs. You will deliver a highly adapted curriculum, sensory based, to develop students basic skills in Maths and English and Fine Motor Skills.

The School

This Southwark based SEN School offers state of the art purpose built facilities accessible to all students with complex needs including;

  • Hydrotherapy pool with sensory environment.
  • Specially adapted and equipped science, art, music and technology rooms.
  • Soft Play room
  • Sensory rooms
  • Specially equipped playground.
  • Two minibuses for use in the community.

The Ideal Applicant

Due to this complexity of the pupils, the school are seeking to appoint an experienced practitioner who has ideally worked in a similar environment in the UK delivering to children with the same needs and challenges.

Trial days taking place THIS WEEK. Please apply without delay!

Should you require further details on this role or other SEN teaching posts in Southwark, please contact Kiesha @ REESON on 02038410777.
