The school is a 3-form entry school who is looking to onboard an experienced Assistant PE Teacher to work across all primary year groups
The School:
This Primary school is a 3-form entry Primary School rated outstanding by OFSTED and has a long track record of sustained excellence in PE including competitive success at the local, borough, and national levels. In addition, over 90% of children will have represented the school in competition by the time they finish year 6.
The Role:
As a PE Teacher, you will be knowledgeable, energetic, and able to lead a class in PE. You will be able to keep students motivated, engaged, and willing to stay fit and active throughout their PE lessons.
The successful candidate will be able to engage, motivate and act as a role model, with an emphasis on engaging and increasing the participation and enthusiasm of girls. The perfect candidate for this position will have experience in a similar role working within a school setting or has done sports coaching for children in the past.
They will be confident to teach a range of sports to children aged from 4 -11. You will be expected to run after-school clubs between 3.45 and 4.45 pm daily. You will sometimes need to be available before school to prepare sports teams for specific competitions.
As a Assistant PE Teacher:
- Getting the classroom or sports facilities ready for lessons
- Helping teachers plan fun, engaging activities, sessions and programmes and complete records
- Helping children who need extra support to complete tasks
- Supporting teachers in managing class behaviour
- Supervising group activities
- Looking after children who are upset or have had accidents or injuries
- Clearing away equipment after lessons
- Taking part in training
- Carrying out administrative tasks
