Behaviour Mentor

Behaviour Mentor needed in a 'Good' mixed Secondary School in South West London.

If appointed as a Behaviour Mentor, you will work a full time schedule, on a permanent basis.

The school are seeking a Behaviour Mentor to join their inclusive and supportive team.

As a Behaviour Mentor at the school, you will be provided with weekly CPD Sessions and freedom to organise your own projects.

Successful Behaviour Mentor applicants will be expected to support the Inclusion & Wellbeing Manager in delivering effective support and interventions for SEN pupils.

As a Behaviour Mentor at the school, you will assist in the day-to-day running of the Engagement & Learning Centre.

Preferred candidates for this Behaviour Mentor position will have experience of working with pupils of different age groups and ability levels.

The school is particularly keen to meet applicants who have experience of managing challenging pupil behaviour as a Behaviour Mentor or in another support role.

This Behaviour Mentor position offers progression and CPD, as the appointed applicant can expect to receive Safeguarding Level 3 training, in order to take on responsibilities as Deputy Designated Safeguarding Lead.

The salary for this Behaviour Mentor post will be between £21815 and £22607, depending on your qualifications and experience.

The School

Having opened in 2012, the school has since grown to include a Sixth Form and is now fully subscribed, with 800 places for 11 - 18 year olds.

The school is built on the landmark site of a former hospital and continues its tradition of service to the local community.

The building is also able to host a doctors' surgery for local families. The listed building has been fully refurbished and modernised to provide excellent learning facilities yet still preserves the building's historic features.

High quality classrooms and specialist spaces for science, music and technology have been created as well, ensuring teaching is delivered effectively.

The school has two courts, sports hall and makes good use of local facilities for outdoor games and competitive sport.

Requirements

Applications are welcome if you are a Behaviour Mentor at any stage in your career, including if you are a recently qualified Behaviour Mentor or experienced Behaviour Mentor.

However, you must have experience of supporting pupils in UK schools, as a Behaviour Mentor.

You are encouraged to apply if you are a British trained Behaviour Mentor or overseas trained Behaviour Mentor.

As a must, all Behaviour Mentor applicants must have the following on order to be shortlisted for this Behaviour Mentor position:

  • The right to work in the UK as a Behaviour Mentor
  • Behaviour Mentor qualification in the UK or overseas equivalent
  • Knowledge and experience of working as a Behaviour Mentor in the UK
