A brilliant SEN School based in East London with a second site in Croydon have a vacancy for a Behaviour Support TA.

The School:

A school for children with Autism, Severe Learning Difficulties and Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties ages 4 - 19 years. This School is a hub of positivity and all staff are friendly, warm and welcoming. From the second you arrive at this School, you will be supported and made to feel part of the team.

The role:

As a Behaviour Support TA, you will be required to support a child in Year 9 with special needs and behaviour issues. You will be a positive role model who is able to provide the pupil with useful knowledge and advice on a 1-1 and group basis. You will be tasked with diffusing challenging situations, de-escalating conflict and guiding students towards improved attitudes, efforts and behavior. Your ultimate goal is to help this student understand the barriers they have to learning and arm them with strategies to overcome these so that they can achieve. Celebrating every bit of progress is so important.

This role would suit an inspirational leader! You must be creative, able to think on your feet and think outside the box about ways in which you can get through to students from various backgrounds. You must be calm, patient and up for a challenge. This role would also suit a person who is in to Sports and activities as this can be an active role, providing movement breaks for the pupil.
