REQUIREMENTS - Chemistry Teacher

Applications are welcome from a Chemistry Teacher at any stage in their career including ECT's as the school has a reputation for providing outstanding support and professional development training. Chemistry Teachers and overseas trained Chemistry Teachers will be considered for this position, but applicants should have UK QTS or an overseas formal secondary school teaching qualification recognised in the UK. Ideally you will have experience of working in a London Secondary School and can demonstrate a track record of delivering outstanding results.

THE ROLE - Chemistry Teacher

Chemistry Teacher who would enjoy working with highly motivated, intellectually curious students at Key Stages 3, 4 and 5.

The Chemistry Department has both experienced and newly-qualified members of staff. All are able to offer the support required for any teacher, including a newly-qualified teacher, who is eager to contribute and make a difference to students that are conscientious and enthusiastic. They are supported by a fantastic team of technicians who are diligent in their preparation, organisation and involvement in aspects of teaching and learning.

The Science Department, as a whole, works as a close-knit group, sharing resources and strategies across the year groups taught at the school. Chemistry is a popular option at GCSE and A Level. The department's exam results in 2021 and 2022 were outstanding at both GCSE and at A Levels:

  • At GCSE, 87% of students achieved grades 7-9, with 40% achieving grade 9 and 70% grades 9/8.
  • At A level, 11% of students achieved an A*, 46% A*/A and 67% A*/B.
