An English Teacher is needed ASAP at an excellent coeducational Independent School in South East London.

This will be a full time English Teacher position, 8am to 4pm, Monday to Friday.

You will need to teach Year 7 to Year 11 English if appointed as an English Teacher.

It is essential you have experience of teaching GCSE and can commit to working a full timetable, including marking and preparation.

It is desirable that you have a proven record of good GCSE results.

The school is seeking a English Teacher that has strong subject knowledge, the ability to multitask effectively and a solid teamwork ethic.

The rates of pay for this English Teacher position will be between £150 to £250 a day, depending on the qualifications and experiences of each applicant.

The School

Technically established in 1446, the school has since continued to expand and develop in to an all through mixed Independent School.

As of 2021, there are 1043 on roll, aged 3 to 18 years old. It is split in to Junior (3 to 10), Senior (11 to 16) and Sixth Form (16 to 18) sites.

Facilities include a swimming pool, cricket pavilion, a glass walled dining hall and a pupil wellness centre. There is also a dedicated STEM block.

A number of awards have been attained by the school over the years. In 2020, it won Co-educational School of the Year, from the Independent Schools of the Year Awards.

In 2022 it was named Independent Senior School of the year, at the Tes Awards in London.


You will be considered if you are a newly qualified English Teacher or experienced English Teacher.

  • UK QTS or an overseas equivalent
  • Clear and up to date Enhanced DBS
  • Experience as a English Teacher in UK schools
