The role - Food Technology Teacher

The School are looking for a specialist Design Technology Teacher, a Food Technology Teacher; a capable practitioner, to continue the already strong teaching that has been offered in the department. Ideally you will have a track record of delivering high quality, engaging lessons that are rich in content and made relevant by relating to world issues. Many of the students go on to Russell Group Universities and they want to ensure that their progress towards this goal is facilitated. Key Stage 3 & 4 Food Technology teaching experience is essential so that you can seamlessly continue the good progress in the department. The modern Design Technology curriculum, as you will know, requires you to deliver across all specialisms, however the School would be keen to receive applications if you have a particular interest in Food Technology. You will be working in a collaborative department that has a strong pool of resources available. Only a specialist Design Technology Teacher, Food Technology Teacher need apply.

This position starts in September 2022 and is offered on a full time, permanent basis.

Person Specification - Food Technology Teacher

  • You will need to hold a recognised teaching qualification in the UK, to include QTS (or an appropriate overseas qualification leading to obtaining QTS), trained and qualified as a Design Technology, Food Technology Teacher.
  • The school are keen to hear from experienced Design Technology Teachers, Food Technology Teachers especially at Key Stage 4, if you have had experience teaching a range of syllabus on the National Curriculum then that would be an advantage.
  • Confidence in your ability to plan, prepare and deliver lessons for mixed ability pupils at GCSE.
  • A good team player, who has a can do attitude and sense of humour
