Reeson Education is recruiting for an enthusiastic Graduate Teaching Assistant to join a supportive primary school in the borough of Waltham Forest. This Graduate Teaching Assistant role is ideal for recent graduates looking to gain valuable classroom experience while supporting children with special educational needs across Walthamstow, Leyton, Leytonstone, Chingford, Highams Park, and Woodford.
The Role: As a Graduate Teaching Assistant, you'll be working with pupils who have a range of SEN including ASD, ADHD, SEMH, and Speech & Language difficulties. This Graduate Teaching Assistant position offers the perfect opportunity to develop your skills in both 1:1 and small group settings while exploring a career in education or SEN.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supporting pupils with SEN across EYFS to KS2 in their learning and development
- Delivering targeted interventions under the guidance of experienced teachers
- Working with children who have EHCP plans to help them achieve their individual goals
- Assisting with behaviour management and promoting positive social interactions
- Preparing resources and adapting materials to meet diverse learning needs
What We're Looking For:
- A recent graduate (any degree discipline considered, though Psychology or Education-related degrees are beneficial)
- Genuine passion for working with children with additional needs
- Strong communication skills and a proactive, positive attitude
- Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to apply)
- Desirable: Any experience with children, whether voluntary, tutoring, or mentoring
