Head Of Drama

If you're seeking a new and exciting opportunity to use your current skill set as a Head Of Drama, as well as develop your professional abilities, this may be the role for you.

A position for full time Head Of Drama has become available at a high performing, mixed comprehensive school in North London.

The school is looking to appoint a Head Of Drama for January 2020 on a maternity cover basis. Only experienced Drama Teachers with formal UK teaching qualifications will be considered for this role as Head Of Drama. You must have previously taught Drama according to the UK National Curriculum at Key Stage 3 to 5 and be prepared to do so in this position too.

Strong subject knowledge and experience of teaching the UK National Curriculum are essential, as well as UK QTS. Applicants without these qualities will not be considered or shortlisted.

The salary for this Head Of Drama position will be MPS/UPS with Outer London Allowance plus TLR 2B, depending on experience and qualifications. It will therefore be between £28355 to £44541.

The School

The school has twice been judged 'Outstanding' by OFSTED and students at the school outperform students nationally both in terms of attainment and progress.

Promotion of the performing arts, sports and extra-curricular activities are part of the schools ethos. They also take part in programmes such as the Duke of Edinburgh Award and have organised a fantastic range of trips, which have recently included destinations such as Zambia, Barcelona, New York and skiing.

The Drama and Theatre Studies Department consists of a group of teachers who consistently get good results in KS4 and 5. Pupils in Year 7 and 8 all study Drama, with many taking up the subject for KS3 and in to GCSE.

Requirements

Applications are welcome from Head Of Drama teachers at any stage in their career, as well both British trained Heads Of Drama and overseas trained Heads Of Drama. All applicants must have UK qualifications or an overseas formal qualification.

All Heads Of Drama applicants must have the following as a must:

  • UK QTS or an overseas formal secondary school teaching qualification
