Reeson Education is supporting a truly unique SEND provision in the Greater Manchester area in the search for an inspiring and experienced Headteacher. This is a fantastic opportunity for a passionate Headteacher to lead a specialist setting supporting pupils with autism, learning difficulties, and complex needs.

As Headteacher, you'll be responsible for shaping the vision, values, and direction of this small and growing school. Key Responsibilities of the Headteacher:

  • Lead the day-to-day management and long-term strategy as Headteacher of a nurturing and inclusive SEND school.
  • Oversee all teaching and support staff, ensuring high standards and consistent development.
  • Act as the Designated Safeguarding Lead, upholding all safeguarding legislation and procedures.
  • Develop and implement personalised, creative curriculum pathways as Headteacher.
  • Monitor pupil outcomes, teaching quality, and behaviour systems.
  • Lead Ofsted preparation and ensure the school meets all compliance standards.
  • Manage staff training, performance reviews, and professional development.
  • Build relationships with families, external agencies, and local authorities as Headteacher.
  • Ensure health and safety policies, risk assessments, and resources are properly managed.
  • Represent the school proudly and effectively as its Headteacher in all communications.

Essential for the Headteacher role:

  • QTS and a minimum of 2 years' middle or senior leadership experience.
  • Strong background in SEND, ideally with experience supporting pupils with ASC and SEMH.
  • Proven ability to lead and inspire a team as Headteacher.
  • Deep understanding of safeguarding, curriculum design, and inclusive education.

Desirable for the Headteacher:

  • SEN-specific qualifications or training.
  • Experience with Ofsted and regulatory frameworks.
  • Confidence in overseeing bespoke curriculums and alternative learning strategies.
