Health Care Assistant

We are currently seeking a Health Care Assistant to work as an SEN TA within our outstanding client school. This position is based in an Ofsted Outstanding school based in North West London, starting immediately. The successful candidate needs to be a committed individual with a can-do attitude. We are looking for committed health care assistants to work in long-term roles. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of administering medications, manual handling, personal care and how to handle challenging behaviour. We cover all needs and age groups throughout all London boroughs.

As a company we are able to provide quality online training in order to get you "ready for school".

Our client schools work with children that have complex special needs such as ASC, Profound Multiple learning difficulties, SLD, ADHD etc. We are currently searching for teaching assistants and health care assistants. This position will be working with children in small classes or on a 1:1 basis. We are looking for someone who is highly engaging and has strong understanding of being able to understand the needs of a child. Additionally, prior experience working with PECS or Makaton would be at a great advantage however this is not essential.

These schools don't follow the national curriculum and are likely to focus on the individual needs of each of the students, in order for each child to benefit from their education as much as possible. They all have personal goals and are constantly encouraged to push themselves and given tasks to stimulate their activity. These schools have state of the art facilities and resources, such as a hydrotherapy pool, hoists and physiotherapists on site.

It is important to know that the successful Health Care Assistants will be required to feed and change in addition to any other personal care responsibilities that maybe required, therefore a background in nursing and/or PEG feeding would be useful, however the school create a very encouraging and helpful environment and are willing to offer any training.

This is an incredibly rewarding role with the results apparent and in front of you every day as you see each child gradually grow and push themselves.
