Health Care Assistant

As an experienced Health Care Assistant, you will play a crucial role in providing essential support and care to these students within the SEN school setting. Your compassion and commitment will contribute to their well-being, ensuring they receive the highest quality of care and support throughout their educational journey.
Responsibilities of a Health Care Assistant in this role within an SEN School include:
- Providing personal care and support to students with profound and multiple learning difficulties (PMLD), including assistance with feeding, toileting, and personal hygiene.
- Administering medication and following individual care plans, ensuring the health and well-being of students at all times.
- Assisting with mobility and physical support, including the use of specialist equipment and aids to ensure students' safety and comfort.
- Supporting students with their communication and sensory needs, implementing strategies and techniques to enhance their engagement and participation in classroom activities.
- Collaborating with the school's multidisciplinary team, including teachers, therapists, and healthcare professionals, to ensure a holistic approach to student care and development.
- Monitoring and recording student progress, reporting any concerns or changes in health status to the appropriate staff members and participating in regular review meetings.
- Promoting a positive and inclusive learning environment, fostering a sense of belonging and supporting students in accessing the curriculum to the best of their abilities.
- Participating in training sessions and continuous professional development opportunities to enhance your skills and knowledge in working with PMLD children.
This full-time role offers working hours between 8.45am and 3.45pm, Monday to Friday.
