Humanities Teacher

A great school in South London is urgently seeking a qualified and experienced Humanities Teacher with UK QTS.

This will be a Humanities Teacher post, on a 0.4 basis, with the potential of it being 0.6 with an extra day of general cover and support. The main subject to be taught for at least 2 days will be Geography.

Applicants must have experience of teaching as a Humanities Teacher in UK Secondary schools, in line with the UK National Curriculum.

NQTs and experienced candidates are all welcome to apply for this post as a part time Humanities Teacher.

The salary for this part time Humanities Teacher position will range between £28355 to £44541, pro rata, depending on the qualifications and experience of each applicant.

The school is a mixed, comprehensive, 11-18 High School with an excellent track record at both GCSE and A Level over many years.

The curriculum in Years 7-11 follows a traditional model, with emphasis on the core subjects of English, Maths, Science, French and German, History, Geography, Physical Education and Religious Studies, as well as on artistic and practical subjects such as Art, Music, Drama and Technology. Food Technology is a very popular subject within the school, as is Computing, which is well established at both GCSE and A Level.

In the Sixth Form the range of subjects increases to include Economics, Business Studies, Psychology, Sociology, Government and Politics, Law, Spanish, courses in both English Language and English Literature, as well as Further Maths.

Requirements

Applications are welcome from Humanities Teachers with experience or those recently qualified as a Humanities Teacher.

Humanities Teacher applicants who are trained in the UK and those with relevant qualifications from overseas are more than welcome to apply.

All applicants must have the following in order to be considered for this position as a Humanities Teacher:

  • The right to work in the UK
  • UK QTS or an overseas equivalent
  • Experience and knowledge of working in the UK as a Humanities Teacher
