  • MPS1-MPS6
  • Full-time position, 5 days a week

This is a leading primary academy based in Enfield looking for a passionate and eager Year 1 teacher to join their fabulous team. You will be responsible teaching to classes up to 30 students, implementing techniques and have a passion to deliver quality lessons, achieving the best potential from each student.

About the School

Located in the outer London borough of Enfield lies this well-run 3 form entry Academy. This Academy fosters high aspirations and ambitions for the children. The head teacher strives to create a safe, welcoming and stimulating environment where children are able to flourish a love of learning within a structured, broad balanced curriculum. The KS1 department is very supportive, the senior members regularly hold training/CPD courses for all the staff as well as mentor sessions. The Academy is a proud member of a larger trust who all work closely together to challenge, support and encourage each other to meet standards of excellence and fulfil high expectations. Despite having one of the highest proportion of pupils of disadvantaged background in Haringey, 78% of the pupils achieved the combined RWM, one of the highest in the country and in the top 5% of schools with similar pupils. Progress was ranked in the top 20% nationally for Reading and top 10% for Maths and Writing. Our 2017 KS2 provisional results rank us the seventh highest in the borough this year.

The Candidate

This role would support either an experienced KS1 teacher with a passion for Year 1 or a newly qualified teacher who is looking for a strong supportive school to help them through their induction and beyond. The school is looking to appoint a teacher with bags of energy and the drive to see the school's youngest pupils make a great start to their educational journey. The school offers a great working environment with low staff turnover so they are keen to find someone who is committed to staying over the long term, developing and growing in line with the school's progression.
