REESON Education are working in close partnership with a successful federation of Primary Schools in the Borough of Hackney. The trust are looking for a Learning Mentor to join the team as soon as possible. This role will be term-time only, with the view to go permanent for the right candidate in September 2020 (or sooner).

As a Learning Mentor, you will be based at one of the trust's OFSTED 'Outstanding' schools, offering direct support to students and parents across all Year Groups. The role of a Learning Mentor is to support students who are struggling in reaching their full potential at school; whether that be due to learning difficulties or difficult home circumstances. You will be trusted to identify these learners, as well as liaise with parents/carers, class teachers and SLT in order to formulate plans to better support these students and families with school life.

The ideal candidate will have previous experience working within a similar role either in a Primary, Secondary or SEN School setting. You must be an excellent communicator, have the ability to liaise with people at all levels as well as gain their respect and trust. As a Learning Mentor, you must be able to work effectively as part of a team as well as act on your own initiative and self motivate.

Prior experience as a mentor, as well as planning provisions for vulnerable children and families is preferred.

If you are an experienced Learning Mentor, looking for a new challenge, or a SEN Specialist Support worker looking for a change of career, please contact Amy at REESON today.
