A position for a Learning Support Assistant has become available at an excellent school in South East London.

To be considered for this position, you will ideally have school based experience in a UK Secondary School, supporting pupils with different needs.

Possessing a strong and varied knowledge of SEN will put you at an advantage.

However, even if this would be your first time working as a Learning Support Assistant, the school would be happy to have you join.

Some of the most important elements of the post will be a desire to learn, work as a part of a team and demonstrating a positive attitude towards work.

Having the ability to use common sense, initiative/intuition and effective behaviour management/safeguarding skills will also be essential

The rate of pay for this Learning Support Assistant position will be between £65 to £80 a day depending on the qualifications and experiences of each applicant.

The School

A new school, yet to be inspected by Ofsted.

All-through, Reception through to Sixth Form.

The school specialises in Sports & Health, with a lot of importance placed on Physical, Mental and Social Wellbeing.

In terms of attainment and results, the school had a Progress 8 score of 0.54 for 2018 - 2019. This placed it in the top 18% of schools nationally.

In addition to everything, the local community has provided positive feedback towards the pupils, saying they are very well mannered and behaved.

Requirements

You will be considered for this post if you are a newly qualified Learning Support Assistant or experienced Learning Support Assistant.

Applications are also welcome if you are a British trained Learning Support Assistant or overseas trained Learning Support Assistant.

All applicants must have the following in order to be considered for this position as a Learning Support Assistant:

  • Right to work in the UK
  • Up to date and clear Enhanced DBS
  • UK Bachelor's Degree or an overseas equivalent
  • Experience and knowledge of having worked as a Learning Support Assistant in UK Secondary Schools
