Reeson Education is seeking to appoint a dedicated and enthusiastic Learning Support Assistant to work on a 1:1 basis with a Year 1 student in a primary school based in New Addington. The successful candidate will be joining a supportive and friendly team of staff in a school that is committed to ensuring the best outcomes for all its pupils.

As a Learning Support Assistant, your role will involve working closely with the Year 1 student to support their learning and development. You will work under the guidance of the class teacher, providing targeted support to help the student achieve their learning objectives. This will involve adapting learning materials, preparing resources and providing feedback on the student's progress to the class teacher.

Learning Support Assistant Key Responsibilities:

  • Work on a 1:1 basis with a Year 1 student to support their learning and development
  • Adapt learning materials and prepare resources to support the student's individual needs
  • Provide feedback on the student's progress to the class teacher
  • Work collaboratively with the class teacher and other members of staff to plan and deliver effective support
  • Ensure the student's wellbeing and safety is maintained at all times
  • Participate in training and professional development opportunities to further develop your skills and knowledge

Learning Support Assistant Qualifications and Experience:

  • Experience of working with primary school aged children, preferably on a 1:1 basis
  • A good understanding of the National Curriculum and the ability to adapt learning materials to meet individual needs
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • A commitment to promoting inclusion and equality in the classroom
  • A positive attitude, enthusiasm and willingness to work as part of a team
