Position Available: Learning Support Assistant (Year 4 - 1:1) Location: North London

Role Overview:

As a Learning Support Assistant, you will play a pivotal role in helping a specific Year 4 student succeed academically and personally. You will collaborate closely with the class teacher to implement individualised support strategies and ensure a positive and inclusive learning experience.

Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with our experienced class teacher to gain insight into the student's learning needs and goals.
  • Provide dedicated one-to-one support to the designated Year 4 student, ensuring their active engagement and continuous progress.
  • Customise learning materials and activities to meet the student's specific requirements and learning style.
  • Offer constructive feedback and guidance to enhance the student's skills and boost their confidence.
  • Assist in maintaining a well-managed classroom environment that encourages inclusivity and support.
  • Cultivate positive and nurturing relationships with the student to promote their overall well-being and motivation.
  • Maintain detailed records of the student's progress and communicate any challenges to the relevant parties.
  • Collaborate with parents and our Special Educational Needs Coordinator (SENCo) when necessary.
  • Encourage the student's social development and active participation in classroom activities.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Previous experience as a Learning Support Assistant or in a similar role is an advantage.
  • A compassionate and empathetic approach to working with students.
  • Strong communication skills, essential for interactions with both the student and our teaching team.
  • Adaptability to tailor support to the student's unique learning needs and preferences.
  • Patience and the ability to inspire and motivate the student.
  • A commitment to fostering an inclusive and nurturing classroom environment.
