Learning Support Assistant - Primary School - Autism Support - Haringey
A vibrant Primary School in Haringey, North London, is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Learning Support Assistant to join their inclusive team. This long-term role is perfect for someone with a passion for supporting children with Autism and additional learning needs within a primary setting.
As a Learning Support Assistant, you will work closely with children on a 1:1 and small group basis, supporting them to access learning, develop communication skills, and build confidence in a nurturing environment. The Headteacher welcomes both experienced Learning Support Assistants and Psychology Graduates who are keen to develop their understanding of SEN.
As a Learning Support Assistant, you will:
Support pupils with Autism across the primary age range.
Work under the guidance of the class teacher and SENCo.
Use strategies such as visual timetables, PECS, and structured routines.
Help children regulate emotions and engage in classroom activities.
Encourage social and academic progress through consistent support.
Requirements for the Learning Support Assistant:
Experience as a learning support assistant in supporting children with SEN (Autism essential).
Psychology Graduates or experienced Learning Support Assistants encouraged to apply.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
A calm, patient, and positive approach to learning support.

Pay: £85-£100 per day (depending on experience)
