About the Learning Support Assistant Role
As a Learning Support Assistant, you will:
- Lead classes in the teacher's absence and direct Learning Support Assistant teams
- As a Learning Support Assistant you will support pupils using alternative communication methods (PECS, Makaton, AAC)
- As a Learning Support Assistant you will promote positive behaviour, emotional regulation, and social interaction
- Assist with personal care where required
- Create a safe, stimulating, and respectful learning environment
What We're Looking For in a Learning Support Assistant
- Proven experience in SEND settings
- Knowledge of communication strategies and sensory integration approaches
- Calm, consistent, and adaptable approach
- Ability to motivate and inspire pupils' learning
