Job Title: Learning Support Mentor
Location: Wythenshawe, Manchester (M22)
Pay Range: £13.69 to £15.87 per hour (PAYE or Umbrella)
Work Schedule: Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM - 4:00 PM (1-hour dinner break)

Contract: Full-time, Long-term

Reeson Education is partnering with a fantastic specialist setting in Wythenshawe to recruit a Learning Support Mentor for a full-time, long-term position starting in September 2025. This is an incredible opportunity to support pupils aged 11-16 who face a range of challenges including SEMH, trauma, anxiety, depression, and behavioural needs.

About the Learning Support Mentor Role:

  • As a Learning Support Mentor, you will work with students in both 1:1 and small group settings.
  • You will be key in promoting emotional regulation, confidence, and engagement in learning.
  • The role supports students with SEMH, ADHD, ASD, challenging behaviour, and related needs.
  • You will work closely with class teachers and pastoral leads to create tailored strategies that improve student outcomes.
  • Hours are Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, with a 1-hour dinner break.

The Ideal Learning Support Mentor Will:

  • Have experience supporting young people with emotional and behavioural needs.
  • Be calm, resilient, and grounded - with a real passion for helping pupils succeed.
  • Understand trauma-informed approaches and how to build trusting relationships.
  • Be confident leading small-group interventions and supporting pupils emotionally and academically.
  • Be a strong communicator and team player.

Requirements:

  • Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply).
  • Right to work in the UK.
  • At least two professional references covering the last 2-3 years.
  • Experience in a similar Learning Support Mentor or SEN Teaching Assistant role.
