About the Role:

We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Library and Primary Assistant to join our vibrant team. This role is pivotal in supporting our primary school students and managing our school library. The ideal candidate will be passionate about working with young children, fostering a love of reading, and creating an engaging learning environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the day-to-day operations of the school library, including cataloging books, managing checkouts, and maintaining a welcoming space.
  • Support primary school teachers in classroom activities and administrative tasks.
  • Help organize and conduct library events, reading sessions, and other literacy-promoting activities.
  • Work closely with students to encourage good reading habits and assist with their research needs.
  • Ensure the library resources are up-to-date, well-maintained, and appropriately stocked.
  • Provide support during school events and extracurricular activities as needed.


  • Previous experience working in a school environment or library setting is preferred.
  • A passion for literature and promoting reading among young students.
  • Strong organisational and administrative skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with staff and students.
  • Proficiency in using library management systems and basic IT skills.
