Nursery Nurse (0-5 Years)
Overview
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a caring, enthusiastic, and skilled Nursery Nurse to join a welcoming school-based nursery in Wigan. This role is ideal for someone passionate about early childhood development, with the ability to nurture and inspire children aged 0 to 5 years.
We are looking for a dedicated professional who can contribute to a warm, supportive environment where children feel safe, confident, and eager to learn.
Main Duties
Support the delivery of a rich and stimulating learning environment in line with the EYFS curriculum.
Build strong, trusting relationships with children, encouraging independence, curiosity, and creativity.
Carry out regular observations and contribute to children's individual learning journeys.
Work closely with parents, carers, and the wider early years team to support each child's development.
Help maintain a clean, safe, and inclusive nursery setting.
Follow all safeguarding procedures and promote children's health and wellbeing at all times.
Contribute to planning and preparing a variety of engaging, age-appropriate activities.
Essential Criteria
A full and relevant Level 2/3 Early Years/Childcare qualification (e.g., CACHE, NVQ, BTEC).
Previous experience working with children aged 0-5 in an early years or school nursery setting.
A sound understanding of the EYFS framework and child development.
Excellent teamwork, organisation, and communication skills.
A nurturing, patient, and responsive approach to working with young children.
Commitment to safeguarding and promoting children's welfare.
Desirable Skills
Paediatric First Aid certification.
Experience working with children with additional needs.
Familiarity with school-based nursery routines and expectations.
