Nursery Practitioner Needed

We are seeking a dedicated Nursery Practitioner to join a specialized ARMS unit in Harrow. This unit caters to the unique needs of 6 children in the morning with Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties (PMLD), as well as 6 children in the afternoon with social and communication needs. With a team of 5 staff members, you'll collaborate closely to provide exceptional care and support to these wonderful children.

Role and Responsibilities of a Nursery Practitioner:

  • Provide personalized care and support to children with SEN, fostering their development and well-being.
  • Plan and implement engaging activities tailored to the individual needs and interests of each child.
  • Collaborate with colleagues, parents, and external professionals to create a nurturing and inclusive environment.
  • Monitor and assess children's progress, documenting achievements and areas for further development.
  • Ensure the health, safety, and welfare of all children in accordance with relevant policies and procedures.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience working with children with SEN, ideally within a nursery or educational setting.
  • A compassionate and patient demeanor, with a genuine passion for supporting children's learning and development.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues, parents, and external stakeholders.
  • Relevant qualifications in childcare or education (e.g., NVQ Level 3 in Childcare, CACHE Diploma, or equivalent) would be advantageous but not essential.

Working Hours:

  • Monday to Friday, 8:30 AM to 4:00 PM (with a 4:30 PM finish on Tuesdays and Thursdays).
