About the Role
A welcoming and ambitious primary school in Tower Hamlets is seeking an experienced Primary Class Teacher to take on a Year 5 class from Monday 5th January 2026. This is a full-time, class-based role with full teaching responsibilities, continuing until at least the end of the summer term.
The school promotes a calm, inclusive learning environment and has a strong community feel. The successful teacher will bring excellent behaviour management, high expectations, and the ability to plan engaging lessons that support strong progress across upper Key Stage 2.
Key Responsibilities
Lead a Year 5 class with full teaching, planning, and assessment duties.
Create a positive, well-structured classroom where pupils thrive.
Deliver high-quality lessons with clear differentiation.
Maintain consistent, calm behaviour management.
Contribute to the wider school life and subject leadership (non-core).
Candidate Requirements
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) - essential.
Recent KS2 teaching experience, ideally upper KS2.
Strong subject knowledge and curriculum understanding.
Excellent interpersonal and classroom management skills.
Up-to-date safeguarding and KCSIE training.
Contract Details
Full-time from 5th January 2026.
Long-term placement through to end of Summer 2, with potential to extend.
Standard teaching hours with full classroom responsibilities.
Competitive daily or long-term rate, depending on experience.
