The School
A welcoming and well-organised primary school in the Bow area of Tower Hamlets is seeking an enthusiastic Year 1 Primary Teacher to join their team in September 2026.
The school is a two-form entry setting with a strong focus on early literacy, phonics development, and building positive learning behaviours in Key Stage 1. Staff work collaboratively across year groups, sharing planning and resources to ensure consistency and manageable workloads.

The Role
The successful Year 1 Primary Teacher will take full class responsibility, delivering engaging and structured lessons that support pupils as they transition from EYFS into the KS1 curriculum.
Key responsibilities include:
Planning and delivering lessons aligned with the KS1 curriculum
Supporting phonics, early writing, and maths development
Monitoring pupil progress and adapting teaching accordingly
Maintaining high expectations for behaviour and engagement
Working closely with the parallel Year 1 teacher and phase lead
The Ideal Candidate
The school is looking for a Primary Teacher who:
Holds QTS and has recent UK primary teaching experience
Has strong understanding of phonics and early reading development
Demonstrates effective classroom management
Works collaboratively within a year group team
