An Greenwich based PRU are looking for a PRU TA to support a children with SEMH (Social Emotional and Mental Health) in Key Stages 1 and 2.
The School
The School is a Pupil Referral Unit for students aged between 6 - 11 who have an Education Health and Care Plan (EHCP) or a Statement of Special Educational Need (SSEN). In most cases the primary identified need is Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) and behavioural difficulties, although the majority of students have additional special educational needs such as autistic spectrum condition, AD(H)D, speech, language and communication difficulties, opposition defiance and attachment disorders.
The Role
The successful PRU TA will be required to work between 08:30 - 15:30 from Monday - Friday. You will be working with the school on a long-term contract, with the potential opportunity for this to turn permanent. You will be required to support a students at Primary level with Behavioural Difficulties. With the support of the Teachers and Senior Leadership team you will implement a behavior plan focusing on positive behaviour, responsibility and setting personal goals with the student. You will support their engagement in academic and learning activities each day and be creative in encourgaing students to participate. You will be resilient and with a real passion for guiding vulnerable students towards a better path and education.
The Chosen Candidate
Due to the needs of the students, the school are looking for someone who has experience working with young people, especially those of supporting young people with Challenging Behaviour and Complex Needs. Team Teach training is not essential, but preferable.
