Nursery Room Leader

Start Date: September 2023 Location: Clapham

Are you passionate about early childhood education and looking for a rewarding leadership position? We are currently seeking a dedicated and experienced Nursery Room Leader to join our team in Clapham. As the Room Leader, you will play a pivotal role in creating a nurturing and stimulating environment for children aged [insert age range].

Responsibilities:

  • As a Room Leader, you will oversee the daily operations of a designated nursery room, ensuring a safe and engaging environment for children.
  • Lead a team of enthusiastic nursery practitioners, providing guidance and support to enhance their professional development.
  • Develop and implement age-appropriate activities and learning experiences, fostering the physical, cognitive, emotional, and social development of each child.
  • Build strong relationships with parents, providing regular updates on their child's progress and addressing any concerns or questions.
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation, adhering to regulatory requirements and promoting a culture of safeguarding.
  • Collaborate with other Room Leaders and senior management to maintain a cohesive and inclusive approach across the nursery.
  • Support the nursery's commitment to continuous improvement, participating in staff meetings, training sessions, and sharing best practices.

Requirements:

  • Minimum Level 3 qualification in Early Childhood Education or equivalent.
  • Proven experience in a similar role, demonstrating strong leadership skills and the ability to inspire and motivate a team.
  • Sound knowledge of the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) framework and its implementation in a nursery setting.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to engage effectively with children, parents, and colleagues.
  • A genuine passion for working with children and a commitment to providing high-quality care and education.
  • Ability to create a warm and welcoming environment that promotes learning, creativity, and independence.
  • Organisational skills, with the ability to multitask, prioritise, and adapt to changing situations.
  • Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to undergo one) and satisfactory references.
