School Business Manager

We are looking for an experienced School Business Manager to join our mainstream primary school based in Enfield. The School Business Manager will play a pivotal role in managing the school's resources and finances, ensuring that our school runs efficiently and effectively.

The ideal candidate will have excellent financial management skills, strong communication and interpersonal skills, and the ability to lead and manage a team effectively. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the school's finances, human resources, premises and facilities management, and administration.

Key Roles and Responsibilities:

Finance Management:

  • Oversee the school budget and ensure that it is managed effectively and efficiently.
  • Ensure that financial procedures and policies are in place and adhered to.
  • Provide accurate financial reporting to senior management and governors.
  • Manage all aspects of the school's financial planning, including forecasting, budgeting, and monitoring.

Human Resources:

  • Oversee the recruitment and selection process, ensuring that it is conducted in line with school policies and procedures.
  • Manage the school's payroll and personnel systems.
  • Support staff development, training and appraisal processes.
  • Ensure that all HR procedures and policies are in place and adhered to.

Premises and Facilities Management:

  • Ensure the school is compliant with health and safety legislation, including carrying out risk assessments and managing health and safety procedures.
  • Oversee maintenance and repairs to the school premises, including managing contracts and relationships with external providers.
  • Manage the school's premises budget, ensuring that costs are kept within budget.

Administration:

  • Manage the school's administrative function, including the provision of administrative support to the senior leadership team.
  • Ensure that all administrative procedures and policies are in place and adhered to.
  • Manage the school's information management systems, including maintaining accurate records and managing data protection compliance.

The Successful Candidate:

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Experience in financial management, HR management, premises management and administration within an educational environment.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with staff, parents, governors, and external stakeholders.
  • The ability to lead and manage a team effectively.
  • Strong IT skills, with experience of using financial and administrative systems.
  • A commitment to providing an excellent service to the school community.
