Job Title: Science Teacher
Location: SK6 - Stockport

Hours: Full-time, Monday to Friday

We are looking for an experienced Science Teacher to join a specialist SEN school in the SK6 area. This exciting opportunity is ideal for a confident, passionate Science Teacher who wants to make a real impact in the lives of pupils with complex needs.

About the Science Teacher role:
As a Science Teacher, you will:

  • Plan, deliver, and assess engaging Science lessons in line with the national curriculum or SEN-adapted curriculum.

  • Support pupils with a range of additional needs, including SEMH, ASD, and learning difficulties. Experience in SEN is highly advantageous.

  • Collaborate with teaching assistants, therapists, and SEN staff to ensure all pupils can access the Science curriculum.

  • Adapt resources and lesson plans to suit individual needs, promoting inclusion and engagement.

  • Deliver practical experiments and theoretical lessons in a safe and structured classroom environment.

  • Provide feedback and support to pupils to encourage confidence, curiosity, and academic growth.

Requirements for the Science Teacher:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) in the UK, or an equivalent UK-recognised qualification.

  • Proven experience teaching Science in a UK school setting.

  • Strong curriculum knowledge and the ability to adapt lessons to meet the needs of all learners.

  • Confident in teaching secondary-age pupils.

  • Experience supporting SEND pupils is highly desirable, but not essential for an experienced Science Teacher.

  • Excellent classroom management, communication, and organisation skills.
