Diligent Science Technician needed urgently at an exceptional all boys school in South London.

This Science Technician post will be full time and permanent.

General responsibilities for this Science Technician role will include but not be limited to; preparing practical lessons for KS3 to KS5 pupils, ensuring all resources are stored safely, as well as in the right areas and communicating effectively with fellow Science Technicians around organising day to day tasks.

The school is prepared to consider all applicants, but you must have a degree in Science, ideally one which involved preparing, handling and storing various material, chemicals and equipment/tools.

COSHH training would be advantageous for this Science Technician role.

In addition to good Health & Safety practice, applicants for this Science Technician position will have to be able to work effectively as part of a team, as well as independently.

The rates of pay for this Science Technician role will be £70 to £110 a day, dependent on the experience and qualifications of each applicant.

The School

This is a 'Good' all-boys school that has rich and extensive tradition when it comes to Sport and STEM.

Many professional sportsmen have studied at the school.

There is a Gifted and Talented programme at the school which provides support to the top 5 - 10% of pupils in each year group.

Each department organises trips and runs extracurricular activities to establish an environment of inclusion.

In addition to this, the school has received several awards such as Healthy Schools, Education Business Partnership, FA Charter Standard and Sport England.

Requirements

You are encouraged to apply if you are a recent Science Graduate (with lab experience) or an experienced Science Technician.

Applications are also welcome if you are a British trained Science Technician or overseas trained Science Technician.

All applicants must have the following criteria in order to be considered for this position as a Science Technician:

  • Right to work in the UK
  • Relevant COSHH experience/training
  • UK Science Degree or overseas equivalent
  • Experience of working as a Science Technician in UK Schools or lab environment
