  • Accompany the learner to community-based activities that support learning and social development

  • Write and adapt curriculum materials to be play-based and developmentally appropriate

  • Write and develop reports in terms of progress
  • Work collaboratively with a wider team, including SLTs, OTs, and SALTs, ensuring a joined-up, child-centred approach

Essential Skills:

  • Proven experience as a SEN Advisory Tutor or similar SEN role (QTS)

  • Training or strong working knowledge of:

    • PDA (Pathological Demand Avoidance)

    • GLP (Gestalt Language Processing)

    • Low Arousal Techniques

    • RSD (Rejection Sensitive Dysphoria)

    • Trauma-Informed Responses

  • Curriculum knowledge across:

    • Mastery scales

    • P scales

    • EYFS framework

    • National Curriculum

  • Ability to build strong, trusting relationships with children and families

  • Confident in developing bespoke educational plans that are flexible, creative, and emotionally attuned

This role is ideal for a SEN Advisory Tutor who believes in meeting the child where they are, and who values autonomy, connection, and responsiveness above rigid structure. You must be reliable, flexible, and willing to immerse yourself in the role.
