A mainstream Primary school are looking to recruit an experienced SEN Teaching Assistant to join their KS1 team this Spring Term 2020. This is a full time role, working with 2 pupils in KS1 with ASD.

SEN ASD Teaching Assistant Role Information
For this position you will need to be an experienced SEN ASD Teaching Assistant who has worked with pupils who either have Severe Learning Difficulties or who are on the autistic spectrum.
You will mainly be working with pupils in KS1 who have a diagnosis of autism and have significant delay in their academic and social ability. Both students have limited communication skills and as a result experience working with students who have speech, language and communication needs (SLCN) would be advantageous.
You will be working in small classes alongside an experienced Teacher. The children are lovely, very well behaved and enjoy school however you will need to be able to work under your own initiative, have emotional intelligence, be mindful of your tone of voice/choice of words and body language, have good concentration levels, the ability to multitask and bring energy and enthusiasm to the job.
The ideal candidate will have good ASD knowledge and some experience of PECS and Makaton but the key to the job is attitude and the school are very willing to train someone who shows passion and a willingness to get stuck in!
