SEN Specialist Teaching Assistant (1:1 Support - Year 3)
Location: Pimlico
Start Date: ASAP
Contract: Fixed Term (linked to funding for individual pupil)

We are a welcoming and inclusive primary school in Pimlico with a strong commitment to supporting every child to reach their full potential. We are seeking an experienced and compassionate SEN Specialist Teaching Assistant to provide 1:1 support for a child in Year 3 with Autism, who also requires support with speech, language and communication.

About the role:

  • Working closely with the class teacher and SENCO to provide tailored support.

  • Supporting a Year 3 child on a 1:1 basis to access learning and daily routines.

  • Using strategies to promote communication, social interaction, and emotional regulation.

  • Implementing programmes linked to Speech and Language Therapy (SALT).

  • Building positive relationships to foster independence, confidence, and progress.

We are looking for someone who:

  • Has experience supporting children with Autism and knowledge of effective strategies.

  • Brings some understanding or experience of Speech and Language Therapy approaches.

  • Is patient, nurturing, and flexible, with a positive and proactive attitude.

  • Works effectively as part of a team, liaising with teachers, parents, and outside professionals.

  • Is committed to safeguarding, inclusion, and the wellbeing of every child.
