The SEN TA Position
I am looking for an experienced SEN TA to join an outstanding SEN school in Kingston upon Thames. This school teaches students aged 4 to 19 with severe and complex learning disabilities (SLD), Autistic Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties (PMLD).
You will be working in a fantastic specialist SEN School in Kingston Upon Thames on an ongoing basis.
The SEN School
The school is based centrally in Kingston upon Thames has consistently been rated as outstanding in all areas by Ofsted and the new management has been praised for their open door culture, approach-ability and support for its staff. This school has excellent transport links and is only a short walk from Kingston upon Thames train and bus stations, with buses to Kingston centre directly outside the school. The school benefits from state of the art facilities including a hydrotherapy/ multi-sensory swimming pool, adventure play areas, therapy spaces and soft play room.
The SEN TA Job
You would be working alongside 2 teaching assistants to support the class teacher in a class of 6 students aged 3-7 years. Due to the needs of the children, experience in PECS and Makaton would be advantageous and the successful candidate would be comfortable with dealing with personal care. This outstanding school prides itself on its well established daily routines and Individual Education Plans (IEP) for each student which you would be required to follow. You should have excellent communication skills in order to work well with the class teacher, other TA's, therapists and parents.
