Special Needs Teaching Assistant ( SEN TA) - Hounslow

  • Full Time Job
  • Immediate Start
  • Hounslow Location
  • Secondary SEN School
  • Moderate to Severe Learning Difficulties
  • Good School (OfSTED)
  • Potential Permanent Contract
  • Good Pay Rates (Holidays Included)

I am seeking to appoint three special needs SEN TA starting as soon as possible in a special school for children and young people with moderate and severe learning difficulties. The school deals with a range of needs including a high proportion of students who have a diagnosis of autism. Last term Ofsted judged the school as 'Good' with behaviour being judged as outstanding.

The school is very proud of what it has achieved to date and they put their success down to the bonds between staff created through training and teamwork. there is real pride taken in the pupils who learn and excel at the school. This is an opportunity to join a fun, friendly school well along the path to becoming outstanding.

I have placed teaching and support staff in the school a number of times over the last few years and what strikes all applicants is the happy, friendly and supportive team of professionals, the commitment to raising standards through continuous development and the innovative ways that staff go about enhancing the learning experiences of the pupils.

They are currently recruiting SEN TA to work with pupils in both the complex needs and ASD classes, in their secondary department.

They have very small class sizes (typically 6-8 pupils per class) with a high ratio of staff to pupils. They are looking for candidates who have knowledge of how to work alongside and support pupils with barriers to learning, both sensitively and creatively.

On appointment you will receive a comprehensive induction programme, a wide range of CPD opportunities as well as ongoing support from the school leadership team.

All applicants will be subject to DBS checks. If shortlisted, you will be required to spend one full day in the school. You will be allocated to a class team for the day and an interview will also form part of the process.
