The SEN TA Job:

An outstanding school are seeking a SEN TA in the local borough of Brent. This position is a long-term role with the likelihood of becoming permanent for the right candidate. The successful SEN TA will be working with children on the primary site working with students with Autism and personal care needs. It is preferable that the SEN TA can use PECS (Picture Exchange System) and Makaton however this is not essential.

The School:

This outstanding special school is situated in Brent and have approximately 300 students between the ages of 3 -19 and have nearly 200 members of staff. They can support pupils with an array of complex needs such as: ASD, SLCN, Physical, Medical and Multi- sensory impairment. It is the schools focus on establishing customized pathways for each individual need of every student, so that their aspirations can be met. The school is exceptionally modern and designed by a fantastic and highly talented Architect, they have excellent facilities which include a resourced swimming pool, drama and dance studio, sensory resource base, multi-agency hubs and much more.

The Ideal Applicant:

The Headteacher is looking for someone who is committed, driven, flexible and can take initiative. As this vacancy is an immediate start, it is key for any new member of staff that joins the school that a smooth transition takes place, in order to create minimal disruption for the students and staff.

The ideal candidate will have prior experience working with children with complex needs in either a mainstream or a special school. We need someone who is highly confident in supporting students with complex needs.
