The SEN Teacher Job

I am looking for an experienced SEN Teacher - PMLD to start at a specialist SEN school in South London as soon as possible. The school specialises in teaching children aged 11-19 with profound and multiple learning difficulties (PMLD) and severe learning difficulties (SLD) and is based in a modern purpose built building. The school is located within zone 2 and has excellent transport links.

You will be teaching a class of 7 students all of whom have significant learning and medical needs. As an SEN Teacher in this top South London SEN school you will be expected to undertake the following daily tasks:

  • Create lesson plans based around a sensory curriculum adapted to the specific needs of each student
  • Deliver "Outstanding" teaching
  • Undertake assessments
  • Track data
  • Liaise with parents and external agencies
  • Line managed your TAs (4 full time)

Students at the school come from all over South London the pupils are aged 11-19 with EHCPs for complex needs
including severe learning difficulties, profound and multiple learning difficulties and health needs, many of
whom are also on the Autistic Spectrum, have sensory needs or are physically disabled.

The Headteacher has many years experience leading within special schools and she brings a positivity, openness and determination to the job which staff really buy into.

  • Have PMLD or SLD experience
