The School:

A Good (OfSTED) Independent SEN school in Islington, North London; that caters for ASD/SLD Pupils, with related communication disorders, aged 4-19 years old is seeking to appoint a full-time permanent SEN teacher for September. The school's staff are highly qualified and experienced and so well-equipped to deliver a curriculum tailored to the needs of pupils. All staff are trained in Makaton sign language and training is available onsite, while other communication aids such as PECS are used too.

Each pupil has an individual education plan to which all staff - teachers, therapists, parents, and pupils - contribute. In the early years, the school focuses on teaching communication skills.

The Candidate:

The successful SEN Teacher will have a strong grasp of Makaton and PECs, as well as experience working with ASD/SLD children. This role is ideal for a teacher looking for a full-time role in South West London in an environment which has a ratio of staff to pupils. The school is looking for ambitious candidates looking to move into Senior Leadership Team positions if taken on full-time.
