My client is an outstanding Ofsted rated Brent based SEN school (2019) that is looking for a creative and vibrant SEN Teacher to join their team from straight after October half term. They are seeking to appoint an SEN teacher who is able to demonstrate both excellent classroom practice and an up-to-date understanding of the latest developments in special needs best practise. The contract is for an SEN Teacher for an initial 12 months followed by a permanent contract subject to good performance starting in July 2021.
The school supports pupils with autism and severe learning difficulties including pupils with communication needs from Brent and the surrounding areas - pupils come from 15 London boroughs as well as the Home Counties as oparents seek an outstanding level of education and care for their children. Experience in these areas would be beneficial although as the class are well behaved and the support staff amongst the strongest in the school the Headteacher is very happy to support primary trained teachers with a good track record and an interest in SEN.
This large SEN school located in a highly popular and exclusive area which is surrounded by local transport routes and green open spaces. The building is well resourced, recently refurbished and very bright making it an attractive place of work for teachers from all around London. Thanks to the forward-thinking approach taken by the Head Teacher, the school is always investing in training programmes for staff, installing new facilities and working to build a strong bond across the team. The SLT places great importance in building strong relationships with parents and in providing a positive environment for staff. There is a good social side with most of the staff making it out for a few drinks each Friday, the SLT make sure they and those with families leave early letting the younger elements of school staff blow off some steam!
The successful applicant will need to be able to demonstrate the ability to deliver fun, creative, interesting lessons designed to increase stimulate independent thought, interaction and sensory engagement amongst pupils.
Some relevant SEN teaching experience in a UK or English speaking school is a must for applicants!

As a SEN teacher you will be given excellent in house training and be developed professionally. They prefer to promote from within and have been approached to open a number of new schools within the borough and West London over the next 3-5 years, this will mean that SLT and middle management vacancies will be opening as they plan to move a core of "outstanding quality staff" into each project at all levels to ensure new schools start on a firm footing.
