SEN Teacher Assistant - Full Time - Special Needs School - Chiswick - September Start

An excellent opportunity has become available for a full-time SEN Teaching Assistant to join a highly supportive and nurturing special needs school in Chiswick. This is a rewarding role for someone who is passionate about supporting young people with moderate learning difficulties (MLD) and contributing to a holistic, student-centred approach to education.

This well-established special school is guided by a dedicated team of occupational therapists, speech and language therapists, and specialist educators. The curriculum is carefully designed to meet the individual needs of students through therapeutic and inclusive teaching methods. The school places a strong emphasis on learner progression, emotional well-being, and collaborative teamwork.

Role Highlights as a SEN Teacher Assistant:

  • Full-time position, Monday to Friday (term-time only)
  • Working 1:1 and in small groups with students across Key Stages 3 and 4
  • Supporting the delivery of lessons in core subjects and creative activities
  • Helping to implement personalised education plans and therapeutic strategies
  • Contributing to a safe, engaging, and inclusive learning environment
  • Playing an active role in the day-to-day life of a close-knit school community

The Ideal SEN Teacher Assistant:

  • Experience working with children or young people with SEN (preferred but not essential)
  • A calm, patient, and empathetic approach
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to build trusting relationships
  • A willingness to learn and work collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team
